feldfrauen gmbh operates an online trade (feldfrauen.ch / seide.ch) with silk and silk products. The products are carefully selected in the country of manufacture, which is usually China, and are lovingly packaged and delivered to your home. Our products are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified - you can find out exactly what this means below.
I was born in Chur in the summer of 1968 and grew up in Graubünden. Since my childhood I have been very interested in fabrics and their processing. I am particularly fond of silk with its marvellous and unique properties. In order to be able to offer you this gift of nature at reasonable and affordable prices for everyone, I source it for you directly in the countries of manufacture, preferably in China, where I maintain personal contacts with the producers and designers of silk fabrics. The fabrics are carefully selected, and I attach great importance to quality and humane production methods.
One focus of my business is the trade in bedding made from pure mulberry silk. Silk can have a particularly beneficial effect on our skin and therefore our whole body when we sleep. Sleeping in silk is a luxury that does something really good for your body.
"The bed is an important place of peace and security. Its furnishings have a major influence on our quality of life."
feldfrauen gmbh is the realisation of a long-cherished dream. It combines the joy of fabrics and their processing as well as co-operation with people from other countries and cultures.
OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100
Explanation

Criteria
Since its introduction in 1992, the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® has focussed on the development of test criteria, limit values and test methods on a scientific basis. On the basis of its comprehensive and strict catalogue of measures with several hundred regulated individual substances, the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® takes into account the following:
- Important legal regulations such as banned azo colourants, formaldehyde, pentachlorophenol, cadmium, nickel, etc.
- Numerous harmful chemicals, even if they are not yet legally regulated.
- Requirements of Annexes XVII and XIV of the European Chemicals Regulation REACh as well as the ECHA SVHC Candidate List, as far as they are relevant for fabrics, textiles, garments or accessories according to the assessment of expert groups of the OEKO-TEX® Association. Discussions and developments categorised as relevant are taken into account as soon and as effectively as possible when updating the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® requirements.
- Requirements of the US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) on lead.
- Numerous environmentally relevant substance classes
With its decades of experience, the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® contributes to a high and effective level of product safety from the consumer's point of view. Test criteria and limit values often go well beyond national and international requirements. Extensive product controls and regular company audits also ensure that the industry is sustainably sensitised to the responsible use of chemicals worldwide. Thanks to this concept, STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® has played a pioneering role for many years.
Laboratory tests and product classes
The OEKO-TEX® tests for harmful substances are always based on the intended use of the textiles and materials. The more intensive the skin contact of a product and the more sensitive the skin, the stricter the human-ecological requirements must be.
Accordingly, a distinction is made between four product classes:
- Product class I:
Articles for babies and toddlers up to 3 years of age (underwear, rompers, clothing, bed linen, towelling etc.) - Product class II:
Articles used close to the skin (underwear, bed linen, T-shirts, stockings, etc.) - Product class III:
Articles used away from the skin (jackets, coats, etc.) - Product class IV:
Furnishing materials (curtains, tablecloths, upholstery covers, etc.)
Certification
The prerequisite for the certification of products according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is that all components of an article meet the required criteria - in addition to the outer fabric, this also includes the sewing threads, interlinings, prints etc. as well as non-textile accessories such as buttons, zips, rivets etc.
Further requirements are the existence and application of operational, quality assurance measures and the legally binding signing of declarations of commitment and conformity by the applicant.
